Uke 37: Teaching the Gospel

Morn Morn!

I am now in a "brostrict". Transfers was this week, and they moved the sister missionaries in my district out. So now our district is just the zone leaders and us. Brostrict ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Last P-day was also spent fishing and I did catch a stick this time, so it was an improvement over our fishing experience 2 weeks ago.

We had a cool thing happen this week: When the APs were here on splits a few weeks ago, my splits companion and I talked to a young man who was a little interested in the Book of Mormon but didn't want to give us his number or make an appointment, so we just gave him a book and didn't really expect to see him again. A few days ago, Elder Steele and I went to the library to meet with an investigator, and we actually happened to see David there! We talked to him and he had read most of 1 Nephi and also had done some studying in the Book of Mormon by topic using the index. He liked it a lot and agreed to meet with us and learn more. He said he did some reading on the internet about us and found some anti-mormon stuff. He read it and didn't believe it and he thought their arguments were dumb. We taught him about the restoration of the church and he agreed with everything we talked about!. He liked the idea that this was the one true church and that it has authority, which is amazing because that is often the biggest obstacle for a lot of people we teach. David came to church on Sunday and plans to keep coming to church and meeting with us! ๐ŸŠ

That's about it for this week, ha det bra dere!

Uke 36: Stories

It was a pretty good week in Hamar ๐ŸŠ

We had splits with the zone leaders this week so I got to spend a couple days with Elder Johnson, and that was fun. Other than that, there was not too much exciting that happened.

We went fishing last Monday and it was really chill but we didn't catch any fish ): we'll get 'em next time

My companion wanted to try some skikkelig Norwegian cheese so he grabbed a little block he saw in the discount bin at the grocery store. It was Gamalost (old cheese) and it almost made him throw up in our apartment. It smelled like feet and dirt.

One cool thing that happened was we tried to talk to a guy on the street but he said he was from Syria and he couldn't speak much norwegian. So I said  ู‡ู„ ุชุชูƒู„ู… ุงู„ู„ุบุฉ ุงู„ุนุฑุจูŠุฉ  (Do you speak Arabic?) That is one of the few things I can say in Arabic so I got a very lost when he actually spoke back to me at full speed. I then told him I couldn't actually speak arabic, then he laughed and invited us to come to a Muslim feast celebrating the end of Ramadan. We said we would think about it.

Another cool story: Elder Steele and I had to take a quick trip to the store one night to buy tortillas. We were not trying to find people to talk to, but as we walked past one man, he said "What's up dudes??" So we stopped and said hi to our fellow American, and he the first thing he said to us after that was "Did you guys hear they discovered that there were actually white people in ancient America just like it says in the Book of Mormon about the Nephites? That's some crazy stuff bro!" So of course we talked to him about it for a minute haha and then went on to tell him that the Book of Mormon is actually true and we invited him to church. He said he wanted to so I hope I see him again soon!

Uke 35: Splits Magic

Hei dokker!

We had a great week! On Wednesday we were able to go on splits with the APs and that was good because they are super flinke. We spent almost the entire day walking around in the city talking to people. At the end of the day, my splits companion and I were feeling pretty good about the 5 phone numbers / potential investigators we got, and it got even better when we met up with Elder Steele and his companion and they had gotten 10 potential investigators together! That is called splits magic. All 4 of us focused on "peacocking" that day, which means being very very confident and bold, or you could also say cocky haha. It was a lot of fun and it was very successful!๐ŸŠ

The next day, we went to Oslo for Zone Conference. I got to see some awesome friends that I haven't seen for over 6 six months, and it was just a great conference overall. Next week is the end of President and Sister Hill's last transfer in Norway, and it was a little sad saying goodbye to them. They have done an amazing job and we will all miss them!

Another highlight of the week was that we got to meet some American tourists from LA while we were finding on the gรฅgate in Hamar. Americans are funny haha I didn't think I would miss them, but it was great talking to them! Don't take your fellow Americans for granted [?] De er ganske morsomme.

I did not get a single picture this week, sorry ๐ŸŒž I'm gonna go fishing now. Ha det bra!

Uke 34: Inspiration

GOD MORGEN!

Everything is pretty fantastisk up here in Hamar!

We did more wood chopping work with our investigator Earnest and that's always fun! But other than that we didn't have too much to do so we did lots of finding. In the middle of the week we were running low on Books of Mormon, and we only had 2 left. Elder Steele was inspired and suggested we go banking on doors in a neighborhood in Stange (A little town 20 minutes south of Hamar). So we hit that up and had given out both of the books and gained 2 positive potential investigators after talking to 4 people!

Another highlight was that we were talking to Earnest on his porch last night and a baby moose came out of the forest near us! That was my first time seeing a moose in the wild and it was pretty cool! Hope yall enjoy the pictures of that and some other stuff...

Ha det bra!
