Uke 72: Moving to a WARD!!!

This city is where Nick is going this week.
HEI DÅKKÅR! 🐊

Transfers are this week and this is an exciting one for me! I expected I would be staying here in Haugesund because I have only been here for 3 months, but I am actually moving across the fjord to Sandnes! The number of missionaries in Norway is dropping so the Haugesund Elders area is closing. Sandnes is pretty much the southern part of Stavanger, and they are in the same ward. Yes, I am finally going to a ward! After 1.5 years of branch life, I am super excited to be going to Stavanger ward, which I have heard is one of the best in the country! They have been having a lot of success with the missionary work there recently, so I am excited for that! My next companion will be Elder Barnes, a fairly new missionary from England. I haven't met him yet but I think it will be fun!

On a sadder note, my current companion is dying😬 He is going home on Thursday and he is definitely looking forward to it! It has been a good 3 months with Elder Martineau, I'm gonna miss this gutt! Also, the sisters I came to Norway with are leaving, so that's a little weird. I am getting old! There is a good chance that Sandnes will be my last area...

We did some cool stuff this week in celebration of Elder Martineau's death. We went to Norways finest beach, hiked a mountain with our reinskinn, ate a HUGE kebab pizza and Ben & Jerry's ice cream, and said goodbye to some awesome people we have gotten really close to. I am definitely happy to be moving to Sandnes, but I love Haugesund and I will miss it.

Glad i dåkkår adle sammen! Me sjås!
So long to Haugesund. You know you're in Norway when there is a Viking hut in the middle of town!

Uke 71: Pelts and Rainbows

Not a lot of interesting stuff happened this week, so I have nothing to write about, and not many pictures to send. But here are a couple pictures of the reindeer skins my companion and I got this week, and a rainbow.

Uke 70: Stavanger

Hei dåkkår!

We went to Stavanger this week to do splits and that was awesome! Stavanger is definitely one of the coolest cities I have been to in Norway! It is the 4th biggest city in Norway, has a super awesome gågate and sentrum area, and one of the strongest wards in the country. We took a bus and a ferry for a part of the trip to get there which gave us some great scenery as we traveled across the ocean, a lot of islands, and bridges on the way. We spent 2 nights there and did a lot of work and had fun! The only problem was that I got sick shortly after we arrived so I felt a little dårlig but it was still good.

Here are some highlights:
1.My splits companion and I played ping pong to learn new vocabulary words from each other.
2.We gave out 4 Mormons Bøker.
3.We ate some dang good kebab.

Also this week, the mission president and his wife came to Haugesund to visit, and meet the branch and see the city for the first time. They didn't spend too much time here, just enough to come to church, meet a few people, go on a tur to Haraldshaugen this morning and take us out for lunch before leaving to catch their plane back to Oslo. The Tews took lots of pictures but they haven't had time to send them to us yet so I don't many but maybe I'll send some next week.

Uke 69: Bergen

Hei dokker! Not much happened this week but we did get to spend a day in Bergen, so that was definitely the highlight! It took a few hours on a bus and some more time on a ferry to get there. Bergen is a cool city! We didn't have so much free time while we were there but we did find a little time in the evening to take a train downtown and see some things there. The lighting wasn't the best because it was dark and rainy so I didn't get awesome pictures but it was cool to be able to finally see Bergen in person!

We had a great zone conference while we were there, and I was able to see a lot of MTC bros and other awesome people I hadn't seen in a while. This zone conference was also the last conference for my companion and the sister missionaries I was in the MTC with, who will all be going home at the end of February. It's pretty crazy seeing all of them go! I now have just over 6 months left before I come home!

Då sjåas me snart 😘
