On tuesday
we had district meeting in Lillestrøm and that was skikkelig parti som
vanlig (Proper party as usual). After that we all traveled to Oslo together to hand out Mormons
books in front of the book of mormon musical at the theater downtown.
It was a super fun experience!! The 6 of us gave out about 200 books in about 30 mins. I
think the people liked the play because I have never seen Norwegians in
such a jolly mood and wanting a copy of the book of mormon before. I
asked a lot of them how the musical was and everyone loved it so if you
won't be offended by a bunch of people making fun of mormons in song
form you should go see it haha.
After
that, i went back to Lillestrøm with Elder Collett for splits. Hes a
funny guy, so splits was good. Also it was very nice being in an area
with other missionaries close by. We get a little lonely up in Hamar
sometimes, so its always a party hanging out with the Oslo/Lillestrøm
squad.
After
splits we did service shoveling snow for a guy named Bjørn in his 20s
who is kind of an investigator but mostly just likes hanging out with
us.
We had a dinner with Reidun one night, a
very old lady who lives way out in the boonies. After a long icy drive
with some sketchy sliding of the car, we arrived safely and she fed us
"brennsnut" which is a traditional west-norwegian stew that literally
translates to "burning snout". I dont understand why they dont just let
it cool down a little bit... I guess its just so they can keep the name.
Anyways, it was delicious and i recommend it.

(Nick has learned how to knit, a
popular pastime among the Norwegians. He knitted himself a tie on his
train ride transfer to Hamar, and I am quite impressed!)
here are some pics of my tie. I had a bunch of leftover yarn so im
working on another one now, and then i'll give away the first one.
